Chocolate goodness! The water was a lot cleaner than it looks, the Geen can seem intimidating at times but once you figure where the fish hold in high water its game over! At the end of five days straight I wanted to go home but as soon as I was half way home I wanted to turn the car around and do it all over again.

The numbers weren't crazy but the average size sure was! Everyone send me and Mike your pics so we can make a recap thread and figure out the winners.

Yep. Even though i was skunked I would love to head back and give it another go for sure. Well I'm off to a west trib have to get that skunk off my back. Lmao

I was kind of thinking it wouldn't be to fair to Fishheads to pump out all those prizes for the lack of turnout! If I happen to win something I gladly forfiet it back to Fishheads.
Thanks alot Mike!

hey maybe if everyone who showed up stayed at the geen it would have been a good turnout! lol jk, glad you guys came out and braved the conditions.

15 guys went to five guys pretty quick! I think its the first and last year i'm doing this. Last year I was just a participant and it was the same story. Everyone is rearing to go but as soon as we get some rain and cold weather in the forecast the fair weather fisherman instincts kick in! For me just hooking and fighting a single fish on the raging geen is worth the drive but hey I guess everyone has their own perspective on fishing. Props to the guys who toughed out the 70-80km gusts, sideways rain, snow squalls and slayed the steel! That's real steelheading! For the guys who had to work I feel for ya, we'll have to get out again soon.

No offense but I don't know why you guys put so much effort in to trying to get every one out for as specific weekend once a year!!
Why don't a group of people start a thread for a day outing on a different river every week !! You will get a lot more people willing to go when it's more available !! And why does there need to be prizes!!

I prefer to fish with just a few people at once but once a year its fun to have a friendly competition and meet some new faces. You would want to fish in a big group every weekend??? I aint about that life!

Wasnt much organization at all. No one who was organizing this was answering any of my questions the week prior, left me as well as many others confused

Would have been better to all be at the same motel etc. I have done meets with a good size group of guys on here before that was a lot more organized.

Enjoyed the steel. Love fishing.

pretty easy to stay at the same motel if that's what you wanted, I sure am not going to be booking hotels for people lol. Huron Haven and Manor both had tons of vacancy.

Hell last year half of us just stayed in our cars riverside lol.

that sounds like a great idea, it'll be different people all the time and if you can't go or don't want to go some weekends-----don't, but at least you know that there will be another outing next weekend maybe at a river near you. great idea w_boughner ;-)

You wouldn't have a big group every weekend though !! I wouldn't go every weekend but I would go a couple times a season and a lot of people would do the same to try new water and meet different people .. Some weeks nobody may show and twenty the next you never know but I would be more likely to go if it's available every weekend than once a year

Even though the weather conditions were not as good as last year, I still had a great time out...

Lots of fish were being landed despite the weather...

Props to NADO and Redneck; you guys battled those conditions well...if I didn't have to drive my brother to the airport I would've stayed longer...

Way things were going it would not have made a difference in my catch ratio. Lol. But it would have been nice to get the extra time on the water.

only certain tribs are big enough to host a GTG.  sharing a run on the geen with 15 other people is fine but theres no way im doing that on a lake o trib lol

you don't need to share a run with 15 guys just go to a popular park that is by no means someone's honey hole and share a 500m stretch of the river and these are more a social gathering than a fishing trip are they not ?? Meeting new people and putting faces to the names is the purpose of it ? Finding potential new water and catching fish is just a bonus
