Very small lake was iced over this morning, but only a inch at best, but its getting close. I can remember being out on Boxing day afew years ago, 6 inch of ice and the crappies where hitting good.

We have guys on the smaller lakes now. Care must be taken reports were any snow covered areas were at about 1", uncovered areas are 4". One of the local fishing shows was out on nov11.

This is Manitoba folks. The red river soon.....

Just picked up the new unit last night and put it together! Cant believe I had to sell the old one to a guy in Manitoba but I guess it kind of makes sense since you guys are on the ice already.

Bring on the cold!

Ice fishing is a blast!

I wouldn't buy all the gear right off the hop. See if you like it on the right days this winter. Dress properly and you will be fine outside. I only take my shack/heater out on very cold days or if I have noobies or kids with me. Having the shack has made me alot softer thats for sure..... or maybe I am getting smarter.

Somebody has to take me ice fishing this year. Last year I spent well over $1000 in flotation suit and sonar and ice gear but got skunked badly for anything except perch. 10 times out!
