I went to fish a eastern trib today to find out that
Tightlines was holding a fishing tournament.
I think this is ridiculas considering the size of the trib. By 530 this morning there were already 40 cars.
Does anyone else think this is stupid to do on a small trib?

Sounds like it's the annual catch and release tourny in Pickering. I can't imagine fishing there on a day where there's 70+ people.

I'm not sure why they would want to do it there either. I can think of a few rivers much closer to Tight Lines that would be a better option. I wish I had known about it though, i've been wanting to do some steelhead tournaments.

Plain stupid. Should boycott their products! What east tribs need is definitly not a tournament with all the pressure already on their fragile fish population.

I Guess tightlines should have asked for everyone's permission before he went fishing.

Didn't see them "advertise" on the site.

It's okay to promote a "Get Together" for site members.

But a man who runs a nice small "local" business ,  cant use his home turf?

Seems rather hypocritical.

I bet that many guys together was a great way to SHARE INFO in a positive way.

In person ...

ya and stress out all the fish in a small creek, so that no-one will be able to catch them, what a bunch of good people!

i agree with this we have lots of requests for get together a and outings all the time here the only difference is they got a bigger turn out !!
You guys had a bug outing planned for the geen that had prizes that was a bust but potentially could have had over 100 people show up.. Had you had the overt unity to go would wou have said no ??? Probably not

dude dont compare the geen to the eastern ditches, the east creeks are 10 times smaller then the geen and have 10 times less fish, the geen can hold 100 people and they can be like 20 metres apart.

My only problem with this was that it Is a small trib! They also coul have had a limit on entry's to keep the pressure on the system reasonable.
We chose the Geen specifically to handle a large turnout!
If we had know it was gonna be a smaller turnout we may have done it at a smaller trib.
I am personally interested in doing a tournament or two.
Just the amounts Guys was stupid.
