This probably won't go over well with the others, especially since there's Trout.

 

Regardless, sweet fish! Can't wait for some hard water action. Hoping to get my very first Whitefish and Lake Trout this year!

 

Definitely got me in the mood! I was eying some ponds around my house,,,, soon.... :D

I can't wait to try ice fishing!! Those look delicious !! Especially the whitefish and trout :lol: :lol: :P

ya thats a ling/burbot, from a lake in muskoka, the whities are from the lake that i was talking about with shallow whities, the bigger lakers aren't very good to eat but the smaller lakers are perfect, whities ill take any size, lol.

I have had river lake trout and I have had iced lake trout and to me, I will C and R any lake trout I ever catch again lol. But nice man!!

Bowfin is a different fish from burbot, or fresh water ling cod.

 

 

really?  i find lakers one of the tastier trout,  better than steelhead for sure IMO.  got nothing on the taste of specks or splake though 

 

Small lakers from northern lakes taste OK. Lakers out of simcoe are way to oily and don't taste very good IMO. They are edible though if you season the crap outta them.
