Any thoughts on this rod it is 11ft 6wt it is inexpensive rod an i was thinking getting one just to get in to switch fly fishing. I know all those big brands like Sage etc are the best but right now i need some input about this one if someone has it or tried i

Any input is appreciated.

They are decent rods ! I have the 7wt and I'm happy with it but you do need to go up 2 wts to use standard lines on it .. They are classed by Spey lines which are thicker and heavier than traditional lines

What are you planning on doing with it? I picked up a used redington cpx 11'3 7wt switch for swinging and its aces with a 480 grain skagit swich. I Dont fish indicators much but I cant see single hand casting being fun on my rod.

IR4J thank you but 400 is bit to much for me right know. There is guy selling St. C. Imperial and also in deal i,m getting RIO Switch line brand new for $229.00 . Just spend a lot of money on my summer nymph setup and right know i need inexpensive Switch just to get me by when water is low and is hard to float fish.

Made in mexico beats china, right? for 229 I would say go for it. It will be the best rod for the price unless you want to jump up to the TFO but that would be about 100 more

I cant find my tablet to look at the airflo and rio Charts, but I think thats close. I think the 7w Airflo recs A 510 skagit but I rember the 6 being considerably less when i wass shopping rods.

I run anywhere from a 450 to 525 rio 25ft skagit tip on my 7wt Spey rod and a 450 to 500 on my 7wt swtich so it's right about there I think it would be a good set up

I have the imperial and like the rod. FYI...hook line sinker in guelph has a demo kit of several types of lines they loan out to test / before you buy. Just a thought for anyone else concidering a rod and not quite sure of the line. The imperial is a nice affordable rod...im sure youll like it.

Scagit 425, Scandi 390.  Any of the Chucker, indicator, switch type lines, go with a 6/7.
