Center Pin on the Hardwater?

My dad and i fish lakers as much as we can thru the ice just jigging williams and shiners and such always been on spinning and level wind reel... Ive seen a few pics of guys rippin center pin thru the ice... I guess if it works for trout / salmon in rivers it would on ice. If anyones done it tell me what you think! Worth it.? Or stick with spinning.

did that last weekend, the rig went down smoothly, easier and most importantly not much line twist,
