Where are all the fish??? I live in windsor ontario and fish everywhere around here possible. There are no fish in that river or they've gotten wayyy too smart. Ive been fishing in the city marina and in little river all winter(mainly ice fishing) which has been great up until mid feb. Its one of the longest coldest winters weve EVER had. Ive been going down to my yearly fav fishing spot (riverside and lincoln) and cant catch fish or minnows. Not only that I cant seem to even see any signs of life since early NOV. 5 days ago as i was looking out I seen a minnow and got all excited. (its a pain going across city all the time to fish) . I could go down to lincoln n riverside anytime of day week or night and catch hundreds of minnows without using any bait. also catch fish like crazy. 3 days ago i saw a shad or mooneye(not sure) come to the top on its side then swim back down. and a large fishing hovering the bottom. neither would go near my minnow so im gonna try worms tommorow. ANYWAYS has ANYONE in detroit windsor area done any nearby fishing with any luck. I used to go with a minnow net bucket for minnows rod and pickeral rigs and could easily catch 10 fish in an hour. now its nothing. If anyone fishs in windsor or nearby please msg me or email me a t brousseaujp@hotmail.com

Thanks and GOOD LUCK ALL

Detroit river fished out? Lol

I highly doubt it.. I'm sure the fish are still in the river just have to try a differnet approch to catching them.Iv heard some people having a rough go on simcoe.. Erie.. Lots of lakes .. Gotta remember this has been the coldest winter in like 20 some years. The fish must be acting differnetly than years past or what we've grown use to.

Good luck I'm sure you'll find em!

I've been ice fishing for perch on Erie a couple times this winter and the fishing has been on and off. When I went pike fishing in Parry Sound the lake we fished barely produced compared to past years. Its just the really weird and cold weather we've been having. It should pick up a bit once it warms up.

Right now it is a weather based effect, give it a little time things will get better. What we need is a some warmer rain, this will slowly help bring them in. But we are on that up swing now temps constantly warmer, when the time comes the fish will be very aggressive and hungry so be ready for some great fights.

I am in Windsor too, have same experience this year. After mid December nothing is happening. Minnows are nowhere to be found, City Marina is dead. As others said, we need more steady weather, these changes are killing it. How it looks now, we will wait until mid April for decent fishing.

I purchased a minnow net this season to help offset the cost of bait as I was always going out. I said the same thing to one of the employees at the bait shop on sandwich st. He sais that the weather is still too inclement for the minnows to have a steady flow. The smallest wind change send them to cover. I've noticed that the fishing starts with finding the minnows. But it will change. If you hang out near the mill st district during the evening you'll see monster bass jumping around. They are almost ready to start biting keep at it

HI, I'm also from Windsor. Had abit of a late start this year. Started going down to the pier underneath the bridge starting end of May. Only seen one walleye caught off the pier so far but been catching tons of Silver Bass. My brother caught a few pike and my buddy got a nice 32inch pike and a 40 inch musky on spinners. Tons of minnows down along side of the pier if you have a dip net. As of July 1st the silvers are still biting like crazy on jigs with either a white or yellow twister tail. Before bass season opened I seen some people getting some nice smallies to. Went this morning and a guy got a few 13 to 16 ish smallies. I'm curious to know about that spot on riverside and lincoln, Have you got any Walleye from that spot?
