Hit the hardwater for some afternoon fun today.

Got to meet Knuguy, he was leaving as I was arriving.

Ended up drilling 3 holes throughout the day, and fishing a fourth that was already there. All of my fish came from the first hole I drilled, which was in 145 fow.

The action was excellent. I caught my first "no tip-up and no fish finder" laker. My finder was at another hole, so I was dropping my line to hit bottom and reel it up a bit off bottom before setting it up on the tip-up. As I was reeling it up off bottom, fish on. I know a lot of people fish for lakers this way without a finder, it was fun to do for the first time.

I also got the hang of using my tip-up, and got my first tip-up fish today.

I was lucky in that after I kept my limit, every fish afterwards was barely hooked on the lip, making for super easy releases.

Got some off bottom, some from seeing them on the finder and reeling up to them, and some on the tip-up. Action was good til dark!
