Hey everybody.I'm planning on fishing at norton place park during late spring. Problem is, I've only heard info (good) from one person. There isn't even any sufficient info about it on other sites, so I'm not sure if I should go. Anybody know anything about the fishjng here. Any help is appreciated. I just want to know everything about the fishing there.

I've fished Norton since I was a kid.   Other than Sunfish and Carp/Koi, there is nothing there to legally catch until Bass season opens in late June.  There are only a few Bluegill and Rock Bass left (People taking them to eat), so you'd mainly be targeting Pumpikinseed and Carp in the spring.   That being said, when the season opens it is an excellent pond for Bass fishing, if you can locate them  ;)

In the spring I like to go Crappie and Perch fishing at Professors Lake and Loafers Lake.   They are tough ponds to fish, but if you locate the fish you will be on them all day.

The Rock Bass population in Norton seems to be on the upswing.

That being said, the security that the city hired for the new rec centre are down right nasty if they catch you parking your car. I have been harassed several times. One night the old guy was waiting at my car. Gotta love urban fishing!!

Don't park at the rec centre.

Park on the rough road just after the entrance to the park. I haven't had a problem there.
