Took a visit to the dam today. The bridge is closed off for vehicles until the flooding subsides.

Still a fair amount of ice at the base of the dam. Game fish are all closed for spawning now. Well bass won't be spawning for another little while but they're closed.

Meant to pay a visit to some of the local lakes, as I heard the harsh winter is resulting in large fish kills. I didn't make it, will try to later in the week - hopefully without any dead fish pics to report.

Thanks for the update. Haven't see the water that high there in a long long time. Surely gonna be a long wait before things settle down.

Yikes, that bridge looks like it could be in trouble.

Ya its only going to get worse after tommorow once we get all that rain we're supposed to be getting. At least there won't be much ice left

The water doesn't even look that dirty.  I've seen the water going over that bridge a few times.

After today it will be bad.. GRCA has issued a flood warning for the Nith in New Hamburg and Ayr only Level 1. But this rain will kill off most of the snow and ice. Lots of fresh water for fish. Its all good.

After the high levels of water lowers and bad visibility in the water clears up from today's rain and after the ice is gone it will be all uphill lol. Don't worry guys we'all have fishable water soon enough

dont know where this is, but that bridge may get blown by the swift current and ice shelves, driftwood, icebergs, not a good spot to be crossing when that thing decides to give up,

At this rate the steels are gonna blow through, spawn, and leave before most rivers are even fishable.

But a fresh fish takes time to fully develop the eggs so there will be a lot left by the time it's fishable

They are fishable now but may not be wadable ... Just because the water is high doesn't mean you won't catch fish just means you need to rethink your presentation

Still frozen as of yesterday, bit of open water just north of the bridge.

Open for business, but check the regs to make sure you're not fishing out of season.
