So this past week I headed to a small creek near my place ive seen it from the road tons of times and the odd people fishing there. I went there a day after the rain and the creek was high and dirty was there for only a hour during the week no luck..

So I headed back there this morning after looking on Google maps there were a few nice little pools up stream so I walked the train tracks where the creek runs along to a little bridge and saw a nice deep bend in the creek so I let some line out and let the current take my worm with jighead down stream and hit got this little Brookie. Such beautiful color. Caught 4 of em all small like below but its nice to see a stream near by that has these fun little fish. Have to wait till their bigger.

Beautiful fish.

The walk from where my wheeler was parked at the bridge. I was going to ride it down but turning around would of been difficult.

Thanks guys.. Awesome time. Gonna go back soon and do some more exploring, Calvin you gotta come.. I did venture into the thick woods super hard to fish no room to cast basically just have 5ft of line out and flip it into the creek and let it drift with the current.

Hitting stream brookies is like panning for gold.  It takes prospecting and bushwhacking and lots of dinking around the streams, but when you finally get into one: gold!

Good work!

No it's not haha. This is super close to my house. Caught 2 more today. A little bigger then the ones above. I was talking to a couple guys and they said there's 12-14 inchers in there. Just gotta find em. Fun little fish. Just using a little Mepps with worm on the hook.

Good stuff

I always wanted to try a small creek near my house that I heard use to have brooks and browns.

The tales were people would catch them in there 50 years ago.  From what I see now in the creeks are garbage and shopping carts.

I would give it ago but I'm nervous about the squatters that started popping up over the years by that creek.

Yeah its sad when good creeks turn to stagnant pools with trash and carelessness. This creek does need some work to get water moving in spots. loads of downed trees over the creek. Stone buffers would be nice to get water moving as well. But not a lot of stone around. Would have to use the downed trees to make buffers. The creek floor is sand and pebbles and the odd mud spot. This could be a great trout stream if the work was done. Maybe I should contact Trout Unlimited haha.
