If I have 5 other best buddies to chip in for 5 days of Bluefin hunting, I would do it. Don't mind spending $1000 for a legitimate shot at a Bluefin. The only way to have a good shot is to spend multiple days fishing during prime season. Otherwise, one day charter is like playing russian roulette...you either get them or you don't.
Alternatively, I save that money and go down to Cape Cod to play with schoolie Bluefin there...small enough to get them on the fly. Taking a 40lb Bluefin on a 12-wt is pretty epic.
