I was just there for a week, stayed near alpine.  You can find the walleye in the deeper channels.  Snugged up against bottom close to drop offs.  They like to hide there and pounce on any prey that comes over top of them.

From alpine, you can take a boat for a short ride directly north to the Red buoy that is in the channel and drift from the buoy.  Theres some good structure around that thing.  If you can get ahold of a lake map, it will show where all the other walleye holding areas are.  Alpine should have the maps at their store.

And ya, in Canada, we call them walleye, not pickeral.  ya darn yank

Those are american fish. In Canada we call them pickerel, wether or not that is the correct term
Is irrelevant, it has been so forever. Walleye is mainly a product of american fishing shows, new fishermen and MNR biologists. Feel free to call them whatever you want, but don't yell at those of us who prefer the term pickerel! This is Canada, we drink real beer, catch pickerel and shoot partridge!

Actually you have that backwards. Pickerel is what a lot of Canadians call them, Americans do not use that term for walleye.
