Hi all,

My name is Daniel Bitonti and I am a freelance journalist. I'm looking to do a story on urban fishing around the GTA - the best spots to go, what you can actually catch, and the culture of urban fishing - and was wondering if anyone would be intersted in serving as a guide for me. Certainly I'm looking for someone who wouldn't mind being quoted in the story, and who also knows a lot about fishing in the GTA. I think the general public doesn't even realize there are lots of great spots in the city and would love to bring light to that. Thought this would be the best place to touch base with someone. Look forward to chatting!

Daniel

Just want to add that it may be interesting for your story to include not only urban downtown Toronto fishing but also feature something about fishing just outside downtown.  You can cover way more species ( pike, 4 types of bass, walleye, gar, carp, various panfish, 3 types of trout, 3 types of salmon ) and bring to light the many conservation areas and hiking trails we have offered here in Toronto, for example.

The Fishing Ambassadors would be the guys to talk to about this ( users PUMP KNOWS and MuskieBait )

Show us the piece when you are finished!

DannyB, I can get you in touch with Mike Harry. He's the author of Urban Fishing in Toronto and one of the Toronto Urban Fishing Ambassador. He is the best person for the article.
