Just wondering if anyone on here has fished with the Streamside Vortex pin? It looks not bad, and with the inexpensive price tag I'm actually tempted to get one. Thanks in advance for any input.

I've only read bad reports on the Vortex. I'd take TC's advice.

Most of the people that "love" their vortex are streamside reps.

long story short. skip a year of centerpining, save money, buy an islander or better. cheap centerpins are waste of money. with 200 dollars you can buy top of the line, shimano or daiwa reels that can be used for any type of fishing.

you can find used islanders for around 250 and if you decide to resell it, you can flip it for what you paid for, as the value will stay the same and you wont loose out.

I tried to find an islander, they were not less than 300.  You could get a new one for 350+taxes.  I ended up getting a okuma raw from al-flahertys when it was on sale for $170+tax.

You just need to keep a look out for them. Islanders don't last long when up for sale.

Got mine for 280$.
