Curious what rod, reel and line you guys typically use for creek finishing. Brook trout etc.

I agree - great setup, and if I had a 6' rod, that's what I'd use.

However my 3wt is 7', so I end up using that paired with an Orvis access reel and an indicator tip line. Seems to do the trick, but if I could upgrade, I'd think about switching to a shorter, lesser wt rod :)

6' LG customs ultra light with powerpro green 20 lb (8lb dia) with 6lb floro tipits when running spinners or 1/8 oz jig heads

usually going for browns, and will get the odd bass, pike, walleye or even the odd drum.

you can up the floro lb if you are getting snagged a lot so you dont lose as many lures/jigs.

i have a 7' LG customs ultra light that i use when tossing out a float and crawler, leech, jig/tail, fly or spinner under it...very soft tipped rod...i run 8 lb mono w 6lb floro tip

*just a couple non fly versions to add in for some variety* cheers.

6lb mono handline

this is what i use for stormdrain carp in my yard.. spooled on a pen ;)

seriously though, I use a 8foot 3wt. I enjoy the extra length for nymphing and making mending a bit easier, but it can also place the dries right where i need them without making a commotion.
