Time of day? I'm guessing morning and evening, I'm usually stuck in mid day because of other commitments. What about after a rainfall? One, two days? Or is it water colour, I have learned to like a greenish colour. Reality, anytime is a good time but what are your preferences?

Depends how quickly the water clears. I went Wednesday and it rained the night prior and it was good until about 11am. Then water cleared up and was gin clear. You need to change your approach. With clear water fish will be spooked easier. You will
Need to change your bait.

I'm like you. I fish when I can. I drive down from Ottawa to the east Tribs and fish morning aft evening until I can't take it anymore.

Weekdays, when its light enough I can see my float and gone by 10 am. Some times the bite gets crazy once a rainfall starts.

I find that this year the morning bite picks up around 9:30 and slows down again around 10:30. The afternoon bite picks up around 3:00 and goes till 4:30.

Dusk is best.

Right before a storm is the best.

On hot summer days when the temp starts to drop a little closer to evening the bite usually turns on.
