You will like the rod for sure. I've never used the reel but I know a couple guys who love theirs. Good luck out there!

Take it back and get a new one. Are you sure you want to go with that model. I'm not a fan of the offset style.

Pretty excited over getting out this weekend in search of Chrome. Going to try some new spots and for me the first weekend with a pin. Bought some other stuff to compliment my supply andan I'm ready. Working tonight then a few hours sleep and then it's creek time for the kids and I.
You look set TJ. Good luck to u and sons.

Fishing ling changes tolerances? That was a common problem on my okuma reels. When casting, you have to guide the line back on the the spool.

Are you sure the spool adjustment knob is tight and the spool isn't moving back and forth? I'm assuming you would notice that.
I couldn't see how the gap between the spool and backplate would get wider with line on it.
Let us know the outcome.

You guys are scaring me out of a CP.
Fishheads saved my ass on the zeppelin purchase.
I don't think this is a common problem, something doesn't sound right to me.

That's why there's a return policy.
Hopefully not a sale item.
You might have to fight for a return.
Just raise your voice they hate customers hearing complaints. Lol

bigugly, dont even sweat it...clean it up if you took it out on the waters....pack it back into the box nicely and return it as a unused item, just say you changed your mind and want something else and be done with.........its that easy.,.....
