How does the line affect the gap though? Would love to see a pic just for curiosity and learning sake

Get a sales person to check out the reel, but I'd exchange it for a raven as someone suggested. Make sure your new spots are located in year round fishing sections to avoid hassels.

It was switched out for a Raven fully ported Matrix.

So I put the line on the reel and I'm disappointed. With no line on reel the spool fits amazing with very little gap. Put line on and there is over an 1/8" of Gap, line behind spool every cast. Reel will be going back and spinning reel will be put back in service. I'm pissed to say the least.

 

 

this will happen if you put the line on too tightly and warp the spool

It was put on at store and it was fine to start off with at least the second.
