Looking for a one man flip hut. Clam kenai, frail commando or any one man flip that has a zipper door. Located in Waterloo but as long as the ice holds i'll be up to Simcoe every Saturday.

When there is no snow on the ice its not bad at all to pull by yourself, but with snow just make a smitty sled for it and its not too bad at all. The hard part is taking it off the smitty sled and putting it back on when you move. Its an awkward dead lift especially when its loaded with gear.

NADO, I think you were out there close to me this past Saturday. You should've came over to check out my new Frabill Recruit one man.

I sold my old clam scout TC and picked up this recruit for a great price brand new. It's almost double the space I had in my old clam. It's about 60-65lbs...but I don't use the original Frabill seat and opted to just use a folding light weight chair to it weighs closer to 50lbs (without gear)

You're a walker generally i'm assuming? How have you found pulling it with gear loaded?

Always a walker. When there is little to no snow cover, pulling is easy.

Once there is a significant layer of snow, I will use a custom smitty sled and put my gear on top. Makes it a lot easier.

My gear weighs a bit... buddy portable heater with propane, tackle, rod case, marcum lx9 (almost always with camera), seat, food, water, 8" finbore auger, scoop.

The frabill you use sounds quite tempting. Looks great, 600denier, door which helps with heat loss.

Do you mind sharing the great price & location you got it from?

Bass pro shops had a crazy sale last week. I didn't know about it until today when I dropped by. But they had 25-33% off all ice fishing equipment.

The recruit was $449 and was down to $350.

I got it off of amazon.ca for about $375.

I've been looking around for a one man flip as well. Really wanted the Clam Kenai Thermal. With the warm weather I've kinda put the idea on the back-burner. Deep water on simcoe looks pretty much like a lost cause....

There is a brand new one man Frabill Commando listed on the Jeej in Barrie,  Specs seem a bit heavy for a one man though... I've had a bigger Otter for a bunch of years now and I don't want to deal with the weight anymore unless I take the sled out.

Too bad I could have had it sunday but passed on it. Like I said though, it seemed heavy for a one man, even with the thermal cover...
