Hey guys!

Im looking for a new spinning rod for BASS FISHING! I will be throwing weightless plastics up to half ounce lures on it...

Do you guys have any recommendations for a rod that is 1 piece, and is between 7ft and 7'2 ft? Must be under 150$ or on sale for around 150$

I have heard good things about st.croix, dobyns, kistler, denali and g-loomis, although not all of them are in my prcie range!

please comment any suggestions or your opinion!

I have a St. Croix Triumph 7ft Med-Lite. Nice action for the price. They're around $100. Not sure about 1-pc.

Fenwick HMX rods. Cost around $70-$100. Their Eagle line is also pretty good and cost less than the HMX.

I had to make this decision a few months ago and after shopping around I went for the Fenwick HMG. I haven't had any problems with it yet and I have found it to be a very versatile rod.

Like all equipment now a days.
Too many options.
My best advice is stay with the known quality brands.
As for cost.
You usually get what you pay for.
Whatever is in your personal budget can buy you quality.
Like everything .
Just take the time and enjoy the research.
Don't make things hard on yourself. Lol

I just bought a Fenwick HMG 7" 2 pc med fast action at cabelas for around 125 with taxes last week. I have yet to use it because of the weather but the reviews are all stellar, seems to have great value. The handle seems to be what really sets it apart from st croix, its alot comfier

I'd pick up a St Croix.  The eyecon is nice.

I believe I paid 150(each) ish for both at Cabela's.

I purchased the Fenwick HMG with a Sedona 2500FD from SAIL for about $160 on boxing day.  Love the rod and reel.

Mine is the 6'9 version, believe you can get the 1 piece in them.

My vote goes to Fenwick.

I have a couple of mojo bass (100$) that are simply amazing! And couple of shimano convergence that I like even more, It's a 2 piece 7 ft but It's the rod I cast the fastest with, I fish for carp with it and I caught a lot of 20+ ponder fish with it without it breaking , I even caught a 42 pound carp on it ! You feel about anything on it, I think for the price they are excellent choice.

The BassPro Bionic Blade, was/is good, however they no longer support this product beyond 1 year. We have 4 of these from years past and one has lost a ceramic eye - they say too bad. Otherwise they're great spinning rods, but maybe overpriced considering the lack of support. We have Fenwick fly rods - great product.

Honestly you cannot go wrong with a Fenwick. I personally love my Dobyns Fury although they are just over 150 bucks. Very sensitive rods and can be quite versatile. Otherwise a Veritas rod is great for the money.
