Just a note to anyone else new to fly fishing. Many of the (independent) fly fishing stores have classes to teach various stages of fly fishing/casting and fly tying. Stores like Grindstone Angling (Waterdown near Hamilton) and The First Cast (Guelph).
I've personally signed up with Grindstone Angling for fly casting and fly tying. (I'm not affiliated in any way & prices are very reasonable).
Join a fishing club too - I signed up with IWFFC (Izaak Walton Fly Fishing Club) in Mississauga in the hope of meeting new friends and becoming a better angler.
IWFFC have put together a 'Canadian Fly Fishing Forum 2016' on saturday April 9th in Burlington.
