April Vokey show was canned because she can't catch a fish.
2-3 days on a major river and she catches what?
I watched a show and the camera woman had to catch one.
Not to mention her syrupy writing skills.

wow....all i have to say about that.  OMG she made a show without fish porn or promoting shimano/rapala/gloomis/random fishing sponsor.  shes the kind of angler one could only dream of becoming.  it was a show made to show what fishing is really about, the experience, the people and the place, not 'ooo look at me, i caught 40000000000000000000 fish on this type of lure/fly, im a special snowflake come here and be like me'

 

in case you missed the intro to the show, her goal was fish in a certain style, with flies that have been long forgotten, with gear that is rarely used.  flies your grandfather would would have used, bamboo spey rod, with a greased line.

She actually does line dancing and salsa dancing in the middle of her shows. Lol
But she fills a bikini excellent.
Vokey hits the gym fishes in a bikini.

she tried something different, kudos for her.  she doesn't need sponsors, shes already got them, and a full plate. you may not know her outside the one episode you watched.  but she is quite the accomplished angler

im more than old enough to know that.  I hate that. i don't watch a show for the gear, i watch a show to learn.  Fly Fishing Tuesdays are pretty much the ONLY reason why i even sub to WFN

April is very easy on the eyes. King of the River is supposed to be an amazing show but the commercials that are longer than the actual show is what keeps me from even tuning in to WFN. It's Bass shows after bass shows after bass show and how this plastic bait is better than that plastic bait...even though both look and move the same. Not even a how to rig shows. It's basically, bass, salmon, salt water, catfish, bass bass bass, salmon, saltwater fishnig, catfish....they barely teach you how to fish, they mostly teach you what to buy...

best line on WFN..."this amazing lure is so great, fish hold on to it longer" like the fish can just let go if it wants to...again vokey is easy on the eyes....

You're just perpetuating the main issue of her not being taken seriously because she's a woman fishing and saying she needs to be in a bikini to attract viewers is stupid to say the least. It was a quality show that this shyte industry isn't ready for. It's all marketing nonsense to stupid anglers.

King of the river is good. I watch it on Tou.Tv. The French CBC streaming service. But it's in French. Less intermission

I watched it with all the commercials and all. A truly great show for those who are into salmon, trout river fishing and fly fishing. Keeps you interested and educated. The editing and coverage are top shelf. Like I said, it's the way WFN is formatted that kept me from tuning in. I'm huge for pike and I barely see pike fishing in the channel. And it's mostly about how great a certain lure.

Heck at one time i saw a guy mentioned it's the first time he's going to use a lure but there's multiple patches on his clothes of the same brand....maybe he's saying the truth or not or he doesn't care anymore.
