HI All,

I have had much success with some heavy bass out of the harbor. I am going to try my luck with pike on the upcoming opener.

I was just curious if anyone has pulled any from the harbor and what kind of sizes you hooked?

  Cheers!

I have fished in the harbour for a few years with some great bass action but have not seen a pike.
Haven't targeted them yet.
Keep us posted if you find any.
If you see an old blue and white StarCraft out there that'll be me!

I actually had some luck on Saturday. I pulled a 30"er out near Bayfront park. Did a lot of walking to Cootes bridge and back. Decided to try a few more casts right by the bay beside the parking lot. Nailed it on a J13 in Firetiger.Made it worth being out in the crazy weather.

I was down there yester afternoon- saw 3 pike. One cruiser near the public boat launch, one that was on the end of my line (bad hook set and came off) and one rotting one south of the bayfront beach.

Read the posts. They told you.
You first time posters kill me, where, where, where?
Get up and do the leg work, not like they are in one place and not another.

Alfie.

Yes Alfie leg work is correct lol. I must have walked 15miles total before hooking up.
Went down Wednesday night for a few hours after work, and sure enough again the J13 Firetiger got hammered by a 4.5lb LM on my 2nd cast. Im not sure how to load pics from my phone, was a nice fight though. Actually pulled drag on my MH baitcaster pike rod.
I have a new favorite lure for a while :)

Yes the West Harbour is a nice spot if you want to fish close to home.......as it the area around LaSalle park is also good but the key is putting in legwork to find them.

New member here....first post for that matter. Been following this forum for quite some time but posts like this make me have to voice my opinion. Why are you taking pictures and weighing OOS bass? You know they are spawning at this time of year right? Obviously catching an accidental bass is going to happen, but quickly release it without weighing and taking a picture for ffs.

The bass was not weighed, it was an estimate. The picture was taken by someone else while the hooks were being removed. I respect wildlife and regulations. It was a gentle release and only out of water for minimal time. Thank you for your concern though.
