Battling these guys in the river when they are spawning is one thing. Battling them in open water when they are full of energy is where it's at. Did this a couple times last year with next to no success. This year however has been unreal. Multiple hook ups everytime I get out.

I love getting out trolling in my yak for various species but no matter what I catch, the fight is just not comparable and keeps me going back for more.

I have been running lead core just figuring out the different depths and finding where the salmon are. Over the last month they have all been caught at the same depth. Also been taking a medium action spinning combo rigged with 8lb test line and tying on a spoon. Clipping that to a Scotty lake troller manual rigger. It's always fun getting a strike on the light line. Always a chance of getting spooled and keeps the heart ticking. Letting you know your still alive lol.
