This is my favourite spot to fish at the Toronto islands.  It has lots of lily pads and thus lots of Bass.  I've seen a monster one swim past didn't catch it.  I have caught goby, bass, sunfish, perch and seen carps swimming around but they are hard to catch due to weeds. You can sink a bottom in mass weeds.  I killed all the Goby because they are invasive.

Share you favourite spots with me, if you know where to find smallies or walleye.

Thanks.

Visit the Boat House, they have canoe and paddle boat rental and a couple of fishing rods with plastic grubs, free for borrowing.  But again a limited supply only.

If you are in the city of Toronto Downtown and you want to go fishing, the Toronto islands are best. You want to buy a rod that is easy to package and travel with.  I call this one my golden gun rod LOL.  You can find at Canadian Tire.  Walmart has similar portable rods, for cheap price, you can push the rod down into a small stick.  Of course, the performance will not be as good as a normal expensive rod, but it's weird holding nice fishing gear in the city of Toronto.  People will stare at you... and the bus was crowded for me.
