So i finally got a chance to get out for a few hours yesterday, things at work have slowed down a bit. So i hit up a trib armed with my Tenkara rod. Nothing at all for the first couple hours, and then bang! caught this "little" guy. What a blast on the Tenkara rod.

Beauty bow bud. Would love to try the Tenkara rod - were you using the traditional kebari, or another fly?

Thanks MFG, no I was using a Prince Nymph doing a little high sticking, a great technique for the Tenkara rod. I really recommend if you can try one out. Thanks again but not as pretty as the Brown you caught, that was a real beauty.

We should hit up some water some time I now own 3 Tenkara Rods ( a 5:5 10 footer, 6:4 12 footer, 7:3 13 1/2 footer ) so would be glad to let you have a go.

Beauty trout on the tenkara! I have 3 tenkara rods...but only use them for micro fishing. They do work fantastic for the occasional 1lb fish that fancy the smallest speck of worm. I want to use it more next year for small stream trout, especially areas with tight cover where it's difficult to cast on the fly rod.

Thanks Muskie, yeah I also love Tenkara on small streams and creeks. Nice to see another member that enjoys Tenkara.

Tenkara is always something I've wanted to try! Especially when I'm in the middle of the bush on a small stream. Might look into getting a rod over the winter. Nice fish!

Hmmmm....I hate to be that guy but maybe I'm wrong. I was looking up different rods online and came across this page and saw a picture that looked awfully familiar... http://dragontailten...re-tenkara-rod/

(scroll down)

Interesting lol.
