rod: 9'6" medium light power, fast action float rod
reel: 2500 size spinning
mainline: 10 mono
leader: 5.6# or 6.6# redwing tackle phantom fluorocarbon leader
terminal tackle: xs swivel, 7 gram clear fixed float, non-removable black coloured split shot, size 10-14 hook
lures: beads, roe, pink worms, wooly bugger jigs (black, olive green)

Welcome. There is a variety of methods for salmon & trout during spawning and I find that all of them work.
You can use a salmon/trout rod and short cast spinners, spoons or tots or bottombounce yarn or eggs.
You can use a float rod with centerpin / spinning reel drifting flies, eggs or beads
You can swing or high stick flies, beads or yarn with fly rod & reel.
Take note that post spawn fish are aggressive and hungry so that's your best chance.
Avoid fish in pebbled shallow water...those fish are most likely spawning and won't bite. and avoid walking on their redds. Good luck.
