Let's not be selfish guys. It's a fishing forum, and I think general information can be shared. I rely on posts like this because it takes me 5 hours to get to a salmon fishing spot. I wish I could do the leg work and I do for my area, so if any wanna know about 'gateway to the north' areas (I'm not sharing my secret spots though) ...

Its not about being selfish... Selfish are the onlookers on this site who just browse for information without contributing or posting...

There have been times I go fishing all week, then one day someone makes a post and I get pushed out of my own spot, despite being there first because people just don't care, they want to catch fish...

The way I see it, if you make friends with the locals you can talk to them at any time and they will keep you informed. But posts like this is the reason most people don't bother with salmon fishing. Salmon season brings out the worst in people and the worst people.

So then you would be agreeing with myself (and many others) who don't like to post things to avoid the amount of traffic. Keep in mind many people that read these forums, didnt even sign up for an account... Regardless... This weekend will be mayhem...

I know a few guys that drive about 3 hours one way for some Salmon fishing. They do it every year and make a weekend out of it. They don't get lucky every year, but hey being out and having fun is what its all about.

i keep my spots safe, i like going out and not having to share it with other "fisherman"

I like to chuck big streamers across the pool, and watch the salmon go nuts trying to kill it

had one tonight, targetting fish at the back end of the pool, drifted the fly down, started pulling across

next thing i see is a brown shadow coming from 10ft away from the front of the pool to kill my fly.

Im a fly fisherman, i need space to cast, people dont respect that, don't respect my space, and stand within a rod length away
