Hey folks, 

 

I've been doing quite a bit of jigging this summer, and as result I've went though quite a few jigs in the process.

 

The jigs that I manage not to lose get all chipped and whatnot as I'm sure you all know. What would be a good product to use to re-paint these jigs streamside, so i can use them a couple minutes after painting?  Would nail polish work alright?

 

I've seen that powder painting is the best but I want something that I can do while fishing, I usually only have a dozen or so and often run out of my go to colours when I'm fishing. Would be great if I could fix up some of the ones that are chipped or even paint over a colour I don't often use

Nail polish for sure.
Get yourself a small beauty kit that holds 12 polish and 12 lipstick.
Lipstick doubles as lip balm.

PS Don't fish near me.

 

Don't fish to close too TI or he may just steal your lipstick and nail polish....

 

Soon enough he will be asking to borrow ladies underpants and bras.

 

 

All kidding aside, Nail Polish works, but it depends on the finish you are looking for. A Permanent marker may be sufficient if your just colouring it black.

Walleye are so finicky I wouldn't go with nail polish on my jigs.

Try washing your hands with some fancy soap and then put a minnow on, no bites all day. Hence I know some guys who don't even touch the roe bags so they don't leave a sent . Sick but true.

Buy more jigs of a higher quality, and paint the duds at home. Jigheads are cheap man
