Has anybody ever tried to eat creek chub?? I fished a spot this year where I regularly nabbed 10 inch creek chubs. Huge chubs. Other than being very bony I wonder what they taste like??

I also nabbed several 12 inchers. I actually thought the first one was a rainbow for a quick second. Very similar colors

Are you sure they are not white Suckers? Fry them anyway, it’s not going to kill you.

I watched a few catch and cook videos of people eating chubs and they all say it's quite tasty. And no they were chubs. Was targeting brookies but didn't find any in that location.

I would think they would taste like whitefish. People eat plenty fish that I think are more disgusting than chub. Catfish are just downright nasty and tons of people eat them. People eat zombie salmon for crying out loud !!!

I mean they eat some nasty stuff and when they get big enough they start to look darn ugly and people still eat them , I didn't mean they taste bad, just saying that if a nasty bottom feeder that loves rotten chicken livers tastes good, creek chub might not be so bad !!!!

Totally depends on the water body.
I wouldn't eat anything from certain lakes.
Do your homework.

These chub I refer to live in a brooktrout stream. Actually have also nabbed a few largemouth there too. Its quite an interesting little creek. Very large shiners too.

Alot of people fish for them to use as walleye bait and obviously these are far too large so they get thrown back after a good feed of worms.
