HI,

I'm doing a two week road trip through NF last two weeks of June.

It's a road trip adventure and even thought it's not supposed to be all about fishing I know I will get my fair share in.

Anyone been to Gross more park or fished off the piers in St Johns? Being me I will want to stop at every river we cross.

Wondering if my standard gear will be good to play around with?

And the rules are strange so anyone who knows could you please help me out.

I'll be taking my spinning rods trout lures and fly gear with me just in case.

Thanks

I would check the regulations they tend to be a bit different then Ontario when it comes to Salmon and Trout. Come to think of it I think last years Salmon run( river/creek) was a catch and release only fishery.

The regulations are very strict...depends on what you are after most often than not if you dont have a direct relative with you, you must hire a licensed guide or fish within 800 meters of a provincial highway...

Also if your after salmon you basically get 6 tags with different colours and only certain coloured tags can be used on certain rivers and to retain a certain amount of fish from the river....very confusing regulations

The last few years the rivers have been very low and the salmon numbers are way down. I was going to go down there this year to vist my dad but i think im going to wait until next summer instead.
