Hi there,

I’m new to this forum, but had a question concerning my 6’6 Quantum Graphex baitcasting rod.

My rod originally had 7 entire guides (including the one on the tip), but last year, I broke about 10cm (4 inches) of the tip (along with the tip guide) of the rod - and I lost it, so I can’t stick it back on.

I’m going fishing in two days, so going to the store and replacing it MIGHT not be an option.

My question is - how much of a difference will there be without the last guide and around 4 inches of rod? Can I even fish with it without worrying about my rod snapping?

Try returning the rod if you can. The broken tip should not affect much, you will really only lose some sensitivity and are less likely to feel light bites on your bait. You may also lose distance on your cast due to less flex in the rod.

I really wouldnt worry about the rod snapping... It's already broken, just return it if you can. But it will definitely still be fishable.
