Hi everyone. I'm from NS. I will be visiting the Soo for a few weeks with my boys this summer. We will be staying on Upper Island Lake.  My boys caught a ton of small mouthed bass last summer but they were tiny. Are there any larger fish in there, if so, how to land a couple?

Second, we are willing to try out a few other lakes with easy access (car) as well, so if you have any suggestions, it will be most appreciated.  I am trying to build up their fishing desire and get them away from devices for a while!

Thank you.

That area is a fishing heaven. Bring some top water baits for the SM and don't overlook smaller bodies of water on rough days.

I pulled some monster Pike out of what we would call drainage ponds on one nasty day. It was like there were alligators living in the weed surrounding the lake/pond.

I forget where I got the map but check the local stores they have one that gave a detail description about what to expect in various lakes but really you should have no problem catching some decent fish.

Great tip on the local map. I will try and have someone get that for me before I arrive.
I won't be able to use a boat except on Upper Island.
