Hello, I’m a new member but thought someone could help me or at least find this interesting.
I have an older steel rod that I can’t find any information on except for a patent application from I believe 1945 the patent application has pictures of the rod I have. It has a unique reel attachment mechanism in that you push the finger grip forward to release the reel from the rod. Anyway, anyone familiar or have any info on this rod? It is marked Whitehall Galt Ont. made by Whitehall Machine and tool. When were they in business , when they made these rods , how many they may have made and of course is it worth anything or is it just a unique peice of fishing history?
Thanks for any info.

I have the same rod that I got from my father. Love fishing with it but have no history info either. Following.
