Hi im looking to buy a fishing net mostly for shore fishing but not sure what is a good size. Im looking online at BPS because the stores are closed and i cant see the physical size of the net. I will mostly be fishing with my son from shore for panfish, bass, stocked trout and possibly lake ontario pike. Any recommendations on the size?

Thank you

Size is based on the fish your going to be catching but more important is the material it's made of. Rubber nets are easier to use I think because the hooks don't get stuck on that cord like material other nets are made of. And a telescopic handle is nice but remember to not lift  heavy fish horizontal or else the net will get bent.

Good Morning,

I would recommend a small landing net for all Bass (Panfish is Bass too believe it or not) because they won't be long in any event.  For trout however, I don't recommend a net because it harms the skin of the fish and sometimes trout will have to be released because of season and species.  As for pike (esox lucius) or any other form of pike I recommend using a cradle due to the lengthy size of the individual.
