Hey everyone, I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with these older 3.0L mercruiser engines. I just bought a 1986 19' Aluminum Sylvan with a 3.0L mercruiser engine to use as a fishing boat and am just looking for some tips/advice as to what to double check this winter when I go over it. Luckily, it has a new starter, alternator, plugs, points, (and I believe water pump impeller, I'll have to double check that).
What else should I be checking for? The engine ran great when we went to see it (with a garden hose and muffs).
Any tips/advice is appreciated! I'm new to owning/maintaining a boat.
