Fishing planet is finally coming to a console. It will be released on the PlayStation store tomorrow (Aug 29) and is apparently free to play (ha). Not sure about Xbox one?
I'm pretty pumped considering the only other fishing game we have on ps4 is euro fishing which is a snoozefest and I enjoy doing a little bit of vidgea game fishing during down time in between open water and ice season.

Simcoe smallmouth.

Hello ladies and gents.
So the old ladies dad is coming up this weekend and bringing his boat and would like to fish Simcoe for bass. I'd like to at least get him on a few fish so it's not a total wasted trip for him. The only problem is I don't own a boat so I have no idea where to start. Lol
Ideally we'd like to launch in kempenfelt because I live in Barrie but may end up going to fish cooks bay or the islands instead if I don't find any spots in Barrie.
Anywho I'm just curious if anybody would be generous enough to possibly PM me a general area in kempenfelt that usually holds some decent smallies. Not asking for any honey holes just a place to start as I have no experience fishing lady Simcoe for bass via boat.
Thanks for any help what so ever as I'm literally going in blind here but want to make the best of the day for the old fella

Bass rivers near Barrie?
28 March 2017 - 08:39 PM
So I do a lot of smallmouth fishing once it gets to hot for trout, mostly on the fly or float rod.
But most of the good rivers I fish for bass are huron tribs 2 hours away from home so I only get to fish them when I visit the in-laws. All of my good spots near home are mostly trout rivers and I haven't had any luck finding a good bass creek close to barrie.
Now I don't like asking for spots and I'm not asking for your honey hole and it's not like it's a secret brookie creek anyways. Just wondring if anybody knows of any good creeks for bass large or small close to barrie?

Huntsville area ice conditions

Anybody have any news on huntsville/muskoka area lakes? Planning on a trip up to try some small splake or speck lakes but don't want to drive an hour and a half to find 2" of sketchy ice.
Smallmouth on centrepin

So I went to the in-laws this weekend with plans to fish the Saugeen. I didn't have time so we just hit up a trib just down the road to try and get some bass.
On Saturday we had some luck floating worms and crayfish through pools but on Sunday no dice. So we started catching small chub and floating them downstream. Bingo!
For an hour or so straight we hit smallie after smallie in all different sizes. We even got a few decent pike.
Not sure if this is a thing or not, but I've never had as much fun catching big bass as I did on my light action float rod. What a blast feeling the rod bend in half.
