The bush hog is a creature bait, they have a zoom senko, the zoom tube, and their swim bait shad. All different baits made by zoom.

#288130 Baits for Fall Bass?

Posted by alwayscatching on 29 September 2013 - 08:36 AM

Wacky rig a senko. Never fails. The fish will be pushing up shallow now. I have started marking them in 4 feet of water as opposed to the usual summer 8-12 ft.

#287693 Anyone want to fish scugog or some lake close to that?

Posted by alwayscatching on 25 September 2013 - 07:11 PM

I love how people ragged on members for posting pictures of awesome sized fish they kept but no one rags on this guy for keeping a bass that is clearly hardly a pound.

I didn't want to be the one to say it. Getting tired of pointing these things out lol. As for anyone mentioning rice lake. That is the lake I have fished all summer and I am just looking to toss my senko into some new waters for a change. I got plenty of fishing on rice still to come.

#287369 Recommend Some Good Muskie Setups

Posted by alwayscatching on 23 September 2013 - 11:43 PM

Well if you bass fish best bet is to try out a baitcaster for bass and then eventually after you are done with a spinning reel for muskie, switch to a heavy baitcaster. heck you can even do this. Get a Heavy rod around 7 ft in length, and pair it with any baitcaster ratio of 5.5:1-6.5:1 and make sure it has a good spool size. That shouldn't be an issue for muskie if you have the drag right. Keep in mind though if it is a hot day out and the water is really hot, musky should be horsed into the side of the boat to quickly be released so they do not stress hard and go belly up!

7 ft 6 Heavy 20-40 lbs line and I THINK it is rated for up to 5 or 6 ounce baits

#287357 Mystery Tackle Box Pt 2

Posted by alwayscatching on 23 September 2013 - 10:00 PM

So last time I did not post what I got from mystery tackle box because when I got home, my dad had raided the box and tossed what he wanted in his tackle ahha. I was not happy with what I had gotten from them though and thought I would let them have a chance to redeem themselves. This week I got my 2nd one and I can say although it was better, I think I am done with mystery tackle box. All in all it was a good 2nd box with the following.

a 3 pack of Twitchin Sticks by Stinky Fingers Bait Co. The color is a green pumpkin with no fleck. It is a 5 1/4 inch senko and I am looking forward to test it out for its scent.

a 1 pack of a Reaction Strike Swimbait color is a firetiger. This swimbait looks great even though I am not a big swim bait fisherman.

a 2 pack of freedom jigs. I actually can't  wait to use these as I have never done it before.

finally the last item was a square bill crankbait by Xcite Lures. It is the XB-1 and it is ranged for 2-5 ft of water.

I could not post the actual photos as my phone has been giving me problems so I googled each one.

CJR that is a  beautiful looking smallie. For anyone who has wondered if using a 6.5:1 ratio as opposed to the recommended 7.1:1 or higher ratio reel makes a difference for flipping or pitching, all I can say is I have noticed that when using a jig it doesn't to ME make the biggest difference but I do it anyway because I have the reel for it and it is a really nice one. The swivel does kill action so be aware.
