Can I convert my Elite 4 to a portable for ice fishing?

I have an extra elite 4 collecting dust and I am wondering if I can set it up as a portable to take ice fishing.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Walleye up north - Report

11 August 2013 - 10:56 AM

Hi all,

My first report!

I went home to Parry Sound for some fishing this past week. A few inland lakes were producing beauty walleye but things were a little different then years past.

Even at night the wally's were sitting deeper then usual. 40+ feet.

Our usual spots at half that depth were void of all but a few rock bass.

We were marking the biggest bait balls we have ever seen and the bait was simply sitting still.

Very interesting to see though. as few as we can tell, all the rain is keeping the lke in constant flux so the thermocline is changing on a constant basis. Just a theory though.

Anyways, if you are thinking of going up north for walleye make sure you check much deeper water than you may have in years past.

Walleye bite - any reports?

08 June 2013 - 01:08 PM

Hey all,

Heading up to the Parry Sound area monday. Looking to fish inland.

Just wondering if anyone is on the walleye up there?

I had them dialled in during the opener but I'm wondering if anyone has been having any luck during this cold spell. Seems they could be pretty much anywhere in the water column so I was hoping to narrow it down a bit.

If I get some replies then I will be sure to return the favour with a report on my trip next week.

Fish on!

Spring Walleye effected by cold weather

23 April 2013 - 09:52 AM

Good morning OFF,

I plan on heading back home to Georgian Bay for the Walleye and Pike opener but I have never targeted walleye this early in the year.

I know to expect them in shallower water after the spawn and likely troll a worm harness or toss a husky jerk depending on how the fish are feeding. My question is; how will this cold spring affect the depth and location of the Walleye? Will they be staying shallower? Would looking for sand bottoms be more effective?

I would love to open a discussion about how the temps will be changing their habits early in the season.

Thanks in Advance,
