#329490 Brook Trout Barrie Region

Posted by hamiltonangler94 on 01 January 2016 - 12:58 PM

Brook trout are loads of fun. I love the settings you usually find them in. Usually its in a untouched thick pine forest; one of my favourite types of fishing. But yes good spots are hard to find, especially here in Southern Ontario. I'm sure there are a number of areas in the Barrie region, there seems to be large tracts of forest up that way. Id take a drive on some country roads and look for any roadside streams, you'll be surprised what you find! Anyways the farther north you go, the better opportunities you'll find. I've been fishing for them for a couple of years, and I only know a handful of spots.

#306674 pike opener photos

Posted by hamiltonangler94 on 01 May 2014 - 05:27 PM

I've got some Husky Jerks, Smithwick suspending rogues, and Scatter Raps to try out.  Also going to try some lipless cranks I picked up, a Red Eye Shad and some cotton cordells. I see ppl talk a lot about jerkbaits and spinners for pike, anyone have any luck with the shorter fat style crankbaits? Like Wiggle Warts or KVD 1.5s

I've caught a few pike on those style of crankbaits but for me I like using the thinner stickbait style crankbaits more for pike

#295845 OFF Ice Outing

Posted by hamiltonangler94 on 26 November 2013 - 01:10 AM

I think Lake Simcoe would be the best for most people since it is so close to Toronto and other big cities, as stated above many of us are a good ways away from Haliburton and Lake Simcoe is a close enough distance for most people. Icefished Cooks Bay last year for my first time and I was surprised at the quality and quantity of fish coming out, awesome fishery.

#292376 Every little bit helps. W.I.T.O.-walk in trash out

Posted by hamiltonangler94 on 27 October 2013 - 01:23 PM

Ya I try to do the same thing. There's one spot I fish at that I always clean up, and when I go back there's always garbage there again. Pretty pathetic especially when there's a garbage can 200 feet away. I try to fish secluded areas more because im tired of seeing garbage laying around

#285034 whats your fav lure?

Posted by hamiltonangler94 on 12 September 2013 - 11:18 PM

I agree with fishhawk, matzuo has some nice stuff that hopper lure is a top crankbait for me, catches me alot of largemouth. My buddy swears by that lure one of the only baits he uses for bass all season.
