#334692 Markham Pond Maps

Posted by Giuga10 on 01 August 2016 - 11:04 PM

You seem to advise people over and over again not to eat Markham fish yet many of your pictures indicate fish harvest as well as you stating taking 2 fish home, trying them and tossing the meat after them tasting very bad. Maybe it is best to practice what you preach.

As far as your length competition. There are much bigger bass in markham.

I salute your efforts to inform and educate but I think it can be done in a better way, and in far less posts.

Large Bass in Markham are extremely hard to come by so I would appreciate it if you do not harvest the large ones at least, as well if you find a pond that can consistently produce good bass I would encourage you to keep the location to yourself, it doesn't take much to destroy a pond.

Hope I didn't come off as rude, that is the last thing I want, just thought I'd offer my opinion.

Cheers!

#317355 Mike's Trout glo- Mallows

Posted by Giuga10 on 04 October 2014 - 02:57 PM

I have used marshmallows for trout, not drifting them though. When the bite was tough I would just find a very slow pool, set up the mallow so it would suspend mid water, and wait for a fish to strike, caught quite a few on this method.

People on this forum like to mess with people like you asking legitimate questions, they want to keep the "snagger" "flosser" "loogan" circle jerk alive, hence IR4J's comment. I find it quite immature and really annoying at this point, they act like they're the only ethical fisherman on the planet, everyone else is a "loogan" and unless your're centerpin or fly fishing and take a pic of the fish still in water you're the bad guy.

Anyways, hopefully you found my answer helpful, and sorry for the rant, just get used to this stuff around here and hopefully there are some nice enough guys to give you a legit answer.

BTW I've had good luck with the cheese flavored ones with the sparkles, bought em at Canadian Tire.

#305963 First 2014 Steel on the Fly!

Posted by Giuga10 on 23 April 2014 - 11:22 PM

Headed out to an open stretch of river today for a few hours. Decided to bring my fly rod along and try to get one on the fly.

Was using a large fly, not sure what type, that was weighted at the head, it was brownish and black with green legs.

I located some fish and casted to them, first five minutes in and I was hooked up with the only fish of the day.

A good fight later she was mine, and man was she pretty.

Took a few photos, and off she went, still full of energy.

Noticed a lot less fish today, suckers included, not sure if they've moved up or back down. But numbers have decreased in this area.

Got many bites while using the centerpin but nothing landed so the fish are actively biting. Water was a bit faster due to the little bit of rain we got last night.

But all in all, everything is good. Can't wait for opener!

I find that they may increase the amount of bites in some cases but really they just keep the fish holding on longer. Definitely keep them in the original bag.

#296742 Fly Fishing For Rainbow Trout Parr (Redone)

Posted by Giuga10 on 05 December 2013 - 04:43 PM

Just uploaded this yesterday. I shared the original a while ago but I decided to re-do it. Different music, better quality, and slight changes to the video too.

Watch it in 720p

Let me know what you think!

Thanks and Enjoy!

Edit: Seems like people are eating away at me already for targeting parrs. So, thought I'd say this.  They were not targeted if you read the description of the video, we were targetting Brook Trout as this is a stretch of the river that is know to hold Brook Trout and we have caught them in the past, but the Rainbows were also present and clearly more willing to bite. The Rainbows were not at all targeted but they were the ones biting.

Also the fish that was thrown at 2:07 was a Creek Chub not a Trout, still a stupid move by throwing it though.

#294709 More than Just a Sport

Posted by Giuga10 on 16 November 2013 - 06:50 PM

A company called Shamrock Fishing Products contacted me via me and my team mates fishing Twitter page, and asked me to write an article for their website to promote kids in fishing.

This was the final product:

http://shamrockfishi...co...sport.html

Not the greatest piece of writing, and there are a lot of things I should have added, but I'm still happy with the finished product.

What do you guys think?

#276183 is fishing really that weird for others? humber river

Posted by Giuga10 on 02 August 2013 - 03:43 PM

Rude? how so? Its just a way to avoid conversation. Some people just dont want to be bothered by others and have a peaceful time fishing. Its not like he/she is offending them in any way.

Please don't take this as me trying to start an argument. But yes it's rude. Just tell them politely that you're trying to fish or that you don't want to talk ect.. Just try your best to make it sound like you aren't trying to offend. I love talking to other fisherman, you never know some guy might show you the secret honeyhole, but you played the "no english" card. Be friendly, and you'll have a good time.

You'll know if you're trespassing because you wont make it very far or will be kicked out or warned before trespassing. Like area 51 in Nevada.
