If you're not using spoons, what size of hook would you use when using eggs, or any other type of bait? a barbed hook or un-barbed? weights?

and if you're using spoons, will you tie your line right to the lure or use a swivel snap attached to the spoon?

Awesome, thanks for the insight guys! I've got a 7ft rod with 20lbs braid line and 10lbs mono line. Still having trouble finding a good knot to tie in the mono and braided. I've also heard different color spoons for different colors in the water? What color spoons are you using, and what weights?

When I 1st started learning how to use Baitcasters, I too got frustrated when it birdnested! 

Until I came across this video - now, I'm not scared at all to birdnest. :)

What an awesome video thanks a lot man! I love the baitcaster and definitely don't wanna give up trying with this little beauty! Im going to give that trick a try next time, but it almost looks too good to be true!
