In Topic: 18-20 foot boat (FULL WS) reccomendations?

15 July 2013 - 07:43 PM

just for fishing, personnally i'd go with a centre console model like a boston whaler, being able to walk around the captains chair is pretty valuable, especially on big water with big fish, you can sometimes find some really nice used ones for under 20 grand,  lund has some nice boats as well, if you were looking for a fishing/rec boat, i'd highly recommend a searay, my dad has an 86 searay seville 21ft, really nice boats, rides extremely well, holds 4 people comfortably with seating for 6

Sounds like a charter boat! I am looking more towards multi-species fishing though. Something I would be able to fish Lake Ontario for Salmon with ease yet be able to fish smaller water such as Rice Lake,Lake Scucog, the Kawarthas etc.. I would buy A used boat but I dont 20k to put down on a boat right now (who does lol!) So I will be making a down payment and making payments from there. I have checked out a few Lunds and they have some gorgeous boats but  I cant seem to find any prices on their site! Grrr..

Tube jigs always seem to produce quality smallies when they're lazy.

Hey, thanks for the response nado. I recently proposed the question to italo. From canadain sport fishing. Heres what he said

Question: Hey italo big fan of the show. Watch every week. I mainly fish the grand river for small mouth. I am wondering about different jigs that could be used to prevent some snags.

Awnser:

HI Cody...Thank you for your kind words. Try fishing a Texas-rigged 3-4" tube with a 1/8 oz. jighed and size #1 worm hook. Fish it right long the bottom wherever you think bass are holding....God bless you, Italo

Answered pretty darn quick.ahha thought it.may be helpful

Thats why Italo is my favorite angler. He always takes the time to reply to his viewers even under his busy schedule!

In Topic: Help with Rice Lake

I never fished Rice Lake but I will be seeing as I am moving in the Durham region this fall...so I dont know too much about Rice Lake but the young ones normally dont care too much about size but they love non stop action! Pannies and small cats should keep him entertained! It kept me entertained when I was his age haha! Good luck on your next outing with your son. Tight lines!
