All this has really gotta stop. Everyones screwed up on time or another. Everyone does things they shouldnt. There are lots of resources for the fishing community to learn whats right and wrong, and if you see something wrong on the river you should absolutely offer a positive alternate to what theyre doing. Putting people down, especially from a racial standpoint is certainly wrong. Especially when everyone here is sittin behind their phone or computer screens typing what they think is right and wrong. Of course the kind of stuff mentioned on here does bother me in some ways, but not everything can be perfect, and in my eyes its a lot more bothering to me that races are being put down. Were all fishermen. And women**. And i can guarantee the arguments and hurtful comments certainly wont change whats being argued. "Be the difference you want to see in the world". A quote i live by and something everyone should think about i think. Help people out !!! Some dont know! They need a talking to sometimes and that is fine! But man up and do it face to face when you see it, dont come back and put people down and point fingers, because everyone does screw up, some screw ups are just more noticeable than others. This post will probly piss a lot of people of but i think it has to be said ?

If you wanna take them out of the bag put them in a plano box for example, just sprinkle a little table salt on top and rub a bit on each one by just moving them around in your fingers then your good to put them in a box. Just try to keep them out of the sun, in your box or bag or boat locker is fine. Was going thru my dads tackle and he has soft plastics still moist and plyable and in perfect condition literally from 20+ years ago. He used this salt trick.

#298134 Open/ Fishable water, today, Dec 27th

Posted by Bart on 28 December 2013 - 01:57 AM

Was east yesterday.. One of the craziest experiences Ive ever seen fishing... Hooked my only fish of the day, in the only semi open hole on the river, as I was fighting it jumped onto the ice opposite to the side i was fishing and its continuous flopping while i tried to pull it back to water broke my leader... Myself not one who likes to see something lay helpless, prepared to find away across the river to help the fish into the water... It had been about 15 seconds since the leader broke and the fished had stopped flopping.. I hadnt noticed earlier but a wood duck was nestled under a log 10 feet from the fish. It got up and waddled to the fish, and used its beak to help the fish back into the water. I was absolutely amazed with this act of kindness by the duck.. Whether it really knew the fish was in trouble, or just felt like playing with it and turned out to be helping ill never know, but really was one of the coolest nature encounters ive seen first hand, and made an unproductive day of fishing pretty cool.
