I have soley only used my Elite 4 for ice fishing thus far and is really the only reason I bought it. Its is fantastic split screen either the flasher and the sonar or split screen the sonar to lock on the bottom but to also see the whole colum. Shoot me a PM if you have any questions about the settings.

Absolutely!! You can buy the portable soft pack think from Lowrance. When I bout my elite 4 I got it as a "portable ice fishing bundle" it came with a puck and skimmer transducer and came with the nice carrying case that included the battery and a couple of tackle trays that fit into it. http://radioworld.ca...18i-p-8874.html

It fits nicely in my sled along with my heater, propane, auger, gear and extras. My sled weighs about 50lbs after all is said and done. Not horrible to pull but you feel it in your legs after a good hike!

I have a clam Bigfoot xl2000, it is about $300. For the extra money I'd recommend it, especially for 3 guys. Lots of room and made sturdy! Would totally recommend it!

Gander Mountain sells 12v SLA 7ah batteries for $15 a pop. If you're making a States run it's worth the stop considering they're double the price here, if you can even find one.. Just picked up 2 of them, one as an extra for my Lowrance Elite 4X and 1 to power my lights and fan in my Clam. They're perfect for me as my light/fan set up is a computer fan and a superbright LED light, ran for 8 hours and battery only dropped down to around 10v. Nice and compact too.
