Hey all,

Looking to see if anyone knows of someone who makes good quality custom plastic baits in the Ottawa area.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Cheers and here is to a new season of fishing almost upon us!

Being new to this site, this may have been a topic discussed in the past so I apologize if I am re-hashing a past discussion, but I wonder what people think about the pre-spawn bass fishing idea and why we don't allow it in Ontario.  I have gone down to New York the last few springs to hook up with some pre-spawn and it has been great.  All the reviews and posts on American fishing feeds I have read all seem to think it is ok for the fish (as they don't allow the fishing for the 2 or 3 weeks prior to actual opening season) so I find myself wondering why Ontario does not allow it.  I am a catch and release angler (always have been) and I never feel the need to keep what I catch.

Any thoughts, insights, or reasoning as to why we don't allow this in Ontario would be great.

Hey all,

My name is Rob and I have been fishing for about 10 years now but only really started to fish heavily in the last couple of years and I love it!  Every winter all I find myself doing is waiting for that first real thaw so I can get the boat out and throw a line in the water.  I am from Ottawa and have been to many of the lakes surrounding my city (and there are lots), but there are many I have not been to yet and am always looking for that one lake with monster bass to try and catch.  I fish mainly for Largemouth and smallies, but also enjoy catching the odd pike or walleye. 

 

I look forward to many posts to hopefully help me become a better angler as well as the opportunity to maybe give some of my experiences to help out others.

 

Spring is right around the corner and I can't wait to get out there and get in on some good fishing threads.

Hi all,
I am new to this site but a longtime bass angler. Looking for some hot spots within 1hr or two of Ottawa to land some lunkers. Any advice?
