I would say any fishing on the open water including casting lines from shore into the harbour would be considered zone 20. All the rivers and water bodies inland from the harbour to be zone 16. When in doubt though contact the MNR as you don't want to be targeting an out of season fish.
Welcome to the forum baitcaster83! I fish like you. For everything and I'm mostly stuck to shore fishing hamilton and the whirlpool quite a bit. If you're ever out fishing shoot me a pm aND if I can make it I'll swing down. I'm still new to the hamilton fishing and didn't get out much last year for the first time in years.

Yep, that's a Rudd - I've always loved the wording from the regulations:
"If any of these species are caught, they should be destroyed and not released back into any waters."
I hope it was destroyed.
I've always been good at destroying gobies. I didn't realize that was an invasive species. My Buddie sent it back into the water right after the picture. It never left the net. I'll know for next time. Thanks for the heads up.

Try CCIW this spring.
Hammercarp, I just went to fish the CCIW and almost got nailed for trespassing. I missed the tiny sign right at the front.
Have you had any issues there?
