fishing the Otonabee River

28 July 2018 - 03:40 PM

Hi

I would like some advise from those living near the Otonabee in Peterborough. I have tried to find a spot to fish from the bank of the river but every time I stop and look around there is a sign that has been put on a tree by the MNR indicating that it is a fish sanctuary an no fishing is allowed. I have mostly tried from the Bensfort Bridge to Lock 19 in the south end. Surprising that there is no more into available on the sign. I am wondering where on the Otonabee you fish and what kind of luck you have

Thank you for your assistance

Hello from Peterborough

Hi all

Have picked up the fishing rods again after being away from it for about 20 years or so , Have 3 rods with spinning reels on them and an assortment of lures and tackle..Fish mostly for bass. No boat so almost exclusively a bank fisherman.

Live about 200 yards from the Otonabee river and I am a retired/disabled machinist by trade. Want to learn all I can from the people here

Regards and thank you
