Does anyone have any experience on this lake? Is there good anchoring? Good fishing? I know its a little small for a 30 foot boat but I thought it would be a good place to get it out and practice for a rookie. The boat launch looks good. It's hard to find a decent boat launch for a boat this big.

Dinghy Question
21 May 2020 - 10:43 AM
Im a rookie and I'm looking at dinghy options for my 98 Chaparral 300. The budget is tight and my research shows that I'm looking at about $3,000-$6,000+ for a 4-5 person dinghy, gas outboard and dinghy davitts. Am I crazy to consider Intex's line of inflatables? With a 5 person boat rated for 1300 pounds, 55lb electric trolling motor, battery, battery box and a solar charger, I'm in at about $800! It even has rod holders! These things have a cult following on YouTube with people totally customizing these things into real fishing boats. Keep in mind this boat would be used in small calm water bays and creeks not ocean or big water. I have used their cottage toys and they are very durable. I want to use it as a fishing boat as well with the kids so we will install a carpeted wood floor. DOes anyone have any experience with these Intex boats? Am I nuts?
Thanks
Boat Ramps

Does anyone know what boat ramps are open in Ontario? Northumberland, Quinte, Kawartha areas? Would hate to drive an hour for nothing. Thanks
Balsam Lake Provincial Park

Has anyone ever docked their boat at the Balsam Lake Provincial Park docks? I am planning a trip with friends who have campers and we thought this park might accommodate everyone. The docks look really nice but its hard to figure out if they would accommodate a 30 foot cruiser. Also, are there recommended spots to anchor? I guess worse case scenario, one could always tie up at the locks.
Thanks

Newbie here! I'm not sure exactly what I'm doing but just bought a 1998 Chaparral Signature 300 to explore Ontario's waterways, camp out on lakes and get as much fishing in as possible.
